バイエルは７月３０日、第２四半期の業績発表で、米国でのグリホサート損賠訴訟が１８４００件に達したと発表。カナダでも５件の提訴があったとしていた。今回の発表でバイエルは、原告の急増は原告弁護士によるテレビ広告が増えたことが原因だとしている。

これまでに３件の訴訟の一審判決が出ており、いずれも懲罰的損害賠償を含む高額の賠償の支払いを命ずるもので、バイエルは控訴している。バイエルは、連邦地裁での裁判とともに控訴審でも争うとしているが、同時に地裁で命ぜられた和解調停に「建設的に取り組む」ともしている。８月、バイエルが６０億ドルから８０億ドルで一括和解を提案した、とブルームバーグが報じたが、「純粋なフィクション」であり「和解協議の場で話されていない」と否定したという。アナリストは、解決に最大２００億ドル必要だとみているという。
